[Once again the thing happened where I began writing a post in reasonable time after the described events, got busy, and let it collect dust..... Picking this up again after a month!]

Last week (as of November 27th lol) chiisa and I took a little trip to LA to spend time with one of our closest friends that had moved away a few months prior. ;u; My first time traveling since 2019!! It was super fun, though exhausting, especially with all the walking and not sleeping enough, and it was great to have a proper break from work which evidently only traveling can supply.

We decided to spend a day at Disney's California Adventure to check out the new offerings! 🀟 Since Disneyland in LA is separated into two parks (each requiring their own tickets) and one has the new Star Wars-themed area while the other has Marvel, it was a hard choice between the two but I looooove the MCU — so Avengers Campus was the winner!

It was interesting(?) to travel and attend a theme park during a pandemic; it certainly always kept me on my toes. Fortunately, chiisa and I were able to get our vaccine boosters before the trip and I tried to still social distance from non-friends but a few instances made it difficult and the plane was so uncomfortable?! At least it was somewhat of a comfort that Disneyland was very strict about everyone being masked anytime they were indoors—the attendants were vigilant about this rule with constant reminders, though they didn't do anything to encourage social distancing...

It was not intentional that I happened to have red-ish colored hair like my favorite Disney Princess but it worked out for the best πŸ˜† This crop top sweater was a gift from chiisa and I was also wearing seashell earrings and a hairclip with Ariel on it! All the Little Mermaid paraphernalia ehehe

Check out how cute chiisa's Winnie the Pooh headband is πŸ₯Ί

The rock-like object (unfortunately not Rock-kun) that she's holding is a... raspberry-flavored cream puff being touted as a Guardians of the Galaxy .. space rock?! orb?? It was surprisingly really yummy!

From the same Terran Treats food stall was this O___O pineapple-flavored churro?! Had no idea this could work but it was also quite good...

Despite how much of an absolute worst nightmare the Spider-Man Web Slingers ride was for arachnophobes 😭😭 (and it having the longest wait in the whole park) it was extremely worth going on! It's an interactive game where you're helping Tom Holland stop the army of sp*derbots that have gone rogue—and you literally just gesture with your arms to shoot webs and they track your motion in real time without attaching any sort of device to you?! We were all blown away; it's definitely the future of interactive rides and games!! Mirai zuraaa~! But also holy fucking shit I'm gravely arachnophobic and only was willing to go on this ride because they put in their best effort to make the bots cute and not realistic, but I still needed to close my eyes 98% of the time. Eightleggeds were everywhere; just bloody horrifying. Also an old Stark timecard box was a fun little touch!

[Edit: Hi I've been obsessed with Spiderman and all the films for the past 3 weeks now so I'm SO GLAD I WENT ON THIS RIDE LAST MONTH...! Leading up to No Way Home, I went back to watch the old movies which I'd never seen before and have been watching all the explainers, interviews, behind-the-scenes, and video essays....... I love Spiderman now LOL.]

The Antman-themed Hank Pym test kitchen restaurant with comically sized food is a clever concept! Oh no, they shrunk chiisana πŸ˜‚ We felt ripped off with the chicken sandwich though—that's just a normal chicken patty with a pathetic tiny teeny bun nearly comparable to the size of a tater tot.....

Pretty cool~ Looks like we're at the Avengers Compound with the quinjet ready to take off ✈️

In general I will say that Avengers Campus was more underwhelming than I had hopes for...? There's not an awful lot to do/explore/interact/take photos with... BUT they outdid themselves with putting on shows and always having a lot of cast actors around!

This Nat/Black Widow was soooo charismatic and beautiful... And the Dora Milaje show made me tear up. T__T They had a cool performance with their spears and the Okoye actor was also extremely charismatic and athletic and graceful and perfect for the role. We held a moment of silence for all the kings that came before us (😒😒😒) and when they had a child volunteer go up to answer a few questions, this young Black girl said she was inspired by the Dora Milaje 😭😭

There's this little area with pretty lights where a Dr. Strange magic show took place—and this was the part where I felt kinda mad that Disneyland didn't give a crap about social distancing... It was an outdoor but confined space and as they wanted to fit as much of an audience as possible for the showing they asked us to jam pack in there :((... Luckily we found a back corner and everyone did remain masked.

????? They did Shang-Chi so dirty.

As a kid I used to collect these pressed coins so I was really happy to see an Avengers-themed coin press machine!! We went with Captain America whom I always considered my favorite Avenger (but now who knows--)

There was this cute Wandavision-themed photo op area, complete with TVs that you can frame yourself in so we tried this cheesy pose lololol This was found over in Hollywoodland so perhaps that's why Avengers Campus felt a bit bare—since they already had some Marvel attractions sprinkled elsewhere...

A Falcon/Captain America photo op also over in Hollywoodland! I was pretty proud of this pic that I snapped of one of our friends :>

Cherry chocolate churros! :o

And we totally had our fill with all of the staple Disneyland foods—corndogs, turkey legs, soft serve cones, dole whip, regular churros ... What a fun day :')
