Was very pleasantly surprised yesterday to find that my duet with Zoey is already up!! :D My part was done rather quickly because Bora is like a fucking backup dancer in this duo for this song, but Zoey really had her work cut out for her. OAO;;

I start "rapping" at around 1:33 for a while. I swear the original is just like.. a speaking narration.. so I wanted to add my own flavor and some depth by making it transition from anger -> regret -> sadness/hopelessness. Eh. At least I tried LOL. Zoey's the star of the show though 8D<3 This is some of the most powerful singing I've heard from her!

IT'S A GREAT WAY TO KILL TIME WHEN YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING OTHER THINGS. Came across this one when I was reading my xanga blog entries from 2009/2008. Now it feels like 2012 was a long time ago but I don't think there's enough substance in 2013 for me to talk about that lol.

Kinda disappointed though that this one's not so interesting and it's basically me saying all the things I said in my "resolutions" posts. ^^;;; (I think I've milked all I can about 2012 over and over LOL.) Oh well.

OKAY SO I JUST FINISHED MY LONG REVIEW POST ABOUT THE KOREAN MOVIE "A WEREWOLF BOY" and it doesn't stop there because there are certain things that I can't escape for weeks once I'm in their clutches. I want to tell the entire world because it's seriously such an impactful movie. ;A; There are such cute scenes between the protagonists, but the ending unexpectedly had me crying kind of hard. For some reason, some inexplicable undefinable kind of sorrow that doesn't necessarily feel sad at all lingers whenever I think about it. My heart was aching while I was writing that post, and I almost felt myself wanting to tear up as I wrote the synopsis. Even now, I can still feel it. ;__;

I RECOMMEND THE MOVIE THOUGH. IT'S SO GOOD.

It probably doesn't feel as sentimental to anyone who hasn't watched the film, but ALLLL THE FEEEELS. A significant scene in the movie is when Park Boyoung's character Suni plays the guitar and sings this song for Song Joongki's character Cheolsu; and it's really the moment when Cheolsu falls in love with her, and Suni realizes that she's affected by him.

The scene is really sweet because Suni's simple and childish lyrics really reflect how she hasn't gotten a chance to grow until now. She's always dreamed of companionship, and now her "prince" has really appeared in an unlikely form. :'D
And throughout the film, the guitar is a symbol of--not quite happiness but--peace, harmony, and understanding.

It's such a cute song.. ;w; I love it. Er, I-I imagine they caked on the reverb and had to melodyne a lot because Park Boyoung's an actress and not a singer. |D The whistling in the last part though HAHA. SO PITCHY WHY

Despite my "singing hiatus" (which I can't commit to because singing is what I need to do when I have a lot of feels ;; ), I couldn't resist trying to sing this song. Plus, I figured that it was a simple song that didn't need power or vibrato. BUT I DIDN'T REALIZE THE NOTES WERE THAT TERRIBLY LOW until I actually tried them myself. Park Boyoung, I admire your lower range!!!

I started watching the newly-premiered (as in last week) Korean melodrama That Winter, the Wind Blows.

The name of it....

I was originally not planning to watch it because it's a melodrama and not a romantic comedy, and I'm not so fond of intense/sad/angsty things. But apparently it's really good so far, AND the second leads are Kim Bum (the casanova from Boys Over Flowers) and Jung Eunji (Reply 1997; lead vocal of A Pink)--who I both LOOOVE♥. Kim Bum's one of my favorite actors, and he's just so adorable and all-around charming. Eunji has quickly climbed her way onto my girlcrush list after Reply 1997, which is now one of my favorite dramas, so I'm interested in following her venture into acting. But Kim Bum and Eunji together might just be overload for my poor heart.

The story tells of a blind woman Oh Young (played by Song Hye Gyo) who is the heiress to a large corporation. Oh Soo (played by Jo In Sung) coincidentally has the same name as Oh Young's brother from whom she was separated by their parents' divorce. Oh Soo lives meaninglessly as a gambler, constantly getting into fights. On the search for Oh Young's brother, they come across Oh Soo--who has no choice but to assume the role of Oh Young's brother for ulterior motives. How does this new faux-sibling bond bloom into love?

First of all, I have to applaud the protagonists in their acting. ;u; Jo In Sung has so much to express, and he does it perfectly: his frightening cruelty, his mental pain, his physical pain--you feel it all. On the other hand, Song Hye Gyo's character has to express so little that she really must constrain herself. She did a great job as the stiff, genuine, but non-naive Oh Young who stares into nothingness but sees so much. (It must be difficult to act as a blind person when you actually aren't. Unfortunately, there were times when her eyes moved to look at who she was talking to, but most of the time it was avoided.) Might I also mention that the drama's posters don't accurately capture how enviably gorgeous Song Hye Gyo is?

IT'S INTERESTING because when you think of "Korean dramas," you think, Oh, they're so sad but beautiful and they make you cry, but most contemporary dramas (including the melodramas) don't fit this mold. But with That Winter, the Wind Blows, it feels like a Korean drama gone back to its traditional roots in its stereotyped form.

In only the first episode, 2 people died, one person gets stabbed, and there's crying LOL. IF THAT'S NOT THE STEREOTYPICAL KOREAN DRAMA, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS.

I hope it turns out epic and goes down in history; it has so much potential. :D

#TeamNorcal @ AOD 2013

We had a #TeamNorcal (aka youtubers from Northern California) party today, woooo!

I spent most of it with Chiisana because we decided to not buy a badge for AOD (an anime convention), so we couldn't access the activities the others were doing. We were pretty late because neither of us could figure out what to wear HAHAHAHAHA.

No but seriously, we were in a dilemma because:
1) San Francisco is cold
2) It's an anime convention so people will be either in cosplay or stylish Asian fashion
3) Thus we felt obliged to dress up a little by wearing a skirt or dress
4) But we're also very lazy people that rarely ever dress up
5) Not everything works with dark+thick leggings

AND I HAVE NO SENSE OF STYLE.. nor do I have much of a wardrobe, so figuring out how to wear a skirt while still being warm enough ASDLKFJLSDLA SO HARD. In the end, I settled on this. =v=)b

It looks weird/plain though.. :c Idk. I wish I knew how to/had items with which to accessorize. I really want a long black necklace, which would pop when I wear lighter colors like this!

So we hung out with Myst (mystraven), Karu (karufuruu), Carmen (iAnimePHr34k), Kura (Kuraiinu), and Zero (Zer0Skye). With the exception of Carmen who was with other friends at the time, we took purikura together, but I can't share since that's 4 out of 6 people with their faces censored. What's the point even LOLL

Myst was cosplaying as Venelope from Wreck It Ralph :D She was so cute, omgah.<333 Unfortunately, our height difference is so much that she's only my boyfriend height (as in my head fits snugly on her shoulder) when she's standing and I'm sitting...................

My day consisted of having a delicious gelato crepe (aaaahhhh mocha chip gelato!! it's my favorite in the worlddddd), purikura, exploring Japantown's cute jewelry stores, overly expensive not-worth-it small strips of salmon sashimi with weird texture, and poking through Kinokuniya's hilarious books i.e. "How to Swear Around the World."

I'm quite delighted by the purchase I made today!! A necklace!!! 8D

I REALLY LIKE IT. SOB. I've been really wanting to buy a long necklace (preferably black but this jaded gray's an improvement from my collection of ALL SILVER necklaces) AND I've always wanted a necklace with glasses on it. Plus, I loooove keys~! THIS WAS WORTH IT.

Actually, my only long'ish necklace at the moment is my Tsubasa Chronicle wing one that I wore today.... |D But the design looks normal enough that nobody will suspect it's an anime collector's item, right? kekekeke

One of the highlights of my day was the fact that Chiisana and I finally took purikura together--with just the two of us--for the first time despite having been best friends for so many years.

We both naturally have pretty bad luck, so when together, we're so synced that most things that could go wrong.. actually do. LOL. The top contender of the day (among many incidents) for "BEST SHIT THAT WENT WRONG FOR EVASANA" is when the purikura machine that we were using broke.

Basically, we had taken about 4-5 pictures and were on our last one of the set. Except the camera refused to capture anything? So we had to keep repeating that last picture over and over and over. Eventually, the staff SHUT DOWN the machine entirely and had to reboot it HAHA! Tbh, our pictures from that lost set turned out better than the second time, but it was quite an interesting and rare experience.

Idk why I bother putting these up since it's like I just took pictures by myself. =A= Dat censoring... WE LOVE THIS PURIKURA SO MUCH THOUGH. SO CUTE. The backgrounds are perfect alsdkfj ♥

While the purikura machine was down, we seized the opportunity of having very good lighting to snap a couple photos on my camera. xD The thing is that our background was just a green backdrop for greenscreening.

that things get better after you enter college, but I really miss high school.

Senior year was the peak of my self-esteem, I believe. ^^ I'm pleasantly surprised to be able to look back on old blog entries and see that I once could write something like this (when I used to talk about every class of my day):

Physics: It makes me really, really happy that I can make people laugh with things I say or do. It's an honor. I'm used to being the one that says nothing and is ignored. I'm used to being the mood-killer because nothing I say is ever even RELATIVELY interesting or funny. But in this class, people laugh and I feel so comfortable and people find interest in me and pay a LOT of attention to me [I feel really loved ^^ and it's not even a couple people. It's a lot of people <3 so many people give me so much love that I'm just shocked] and I just feel.. confident and great.

I miss senior year. ;w; I was so miserable, yet so happy..

While I can see why many prefer college over high school (the freedom, feeling like adults, less fakeness and drama), I really want to encourage high schoolers to treasure the time that they have now. It was so much easier back then to establish bonds because you see everyone everyday. Responsibilities weren't nightmarish. Now, once you fall through the cracks, no one's going to magically appear and cast you a ladder.

2013 New Year's Resolutions

I missed New Year's, but at least I'm in time for Chinese New Year's? Better late than never, so I'll have something to reflect on next year if I wish to continue this yearly tradition that I've kept since 2009.

2012 was one of the best, yet most stressful years of my life. I don't think any summer can ever top my summer of 2012: visiting Australia, Anime Expo, #GeminiMeetUp. It was the year that really immersed me into a community of wonderful online friends. However, a unhealthy and overly busy lifestyle emerged that had countless negative effects, so there are some regrets from which I wish to learn and change in this upcoming year.

Listing 100 goals is actually more difficult than expected :c but okay, here I go!
(lulz in reality i have no motivation to write this because my original post with 50 already done randomly disappeared fuck it all)

For a little over a week, I've been working on my 2013 New Year's Resolutions post, adding on a bit whenever I found time. I'd compiled a bit over 50 of them (out of the goal of 100) and now the post is completely gone...........?

This doesn't fly with me.

Unless there actually is such a function and I'm just too stupid to find it, then I'll admit I was wrong. Please tell me if this is the case.

Hi! I'm doing a duet with Zoey to follow up our "Ma Boy" duet, with the new SISTAR19 song "Gone Not Around Any Longer." (stupid song title needs some punctuation to make it sound legit)
I probably shouldn't be posting this because it's spoiling, but I'm Bora, the rapper, again and her part is SO SO SMALL it's ridiculous LOL! The song itself isn't bad, but they picked such a bad song to promote as a duo unit. And not only is Bora's rap small, it sounds dumb and is more like a narration than rapping; it's completely unimpressive.

Anywho! I just got excited that I actually got to finish a little something something, since I'm not supposed to be singing (er, rapping counts too although I think it's less painful) due to my throat.
It shouldn't be a big deal since the main focus will be Zoey's awesome singing, so take this as a teaser. :>

There was quite a bit of stuff that I ended up having to leave out, so perhaps one day when we're reminiscing over these glorious 18 days, we'll dig those scenes out for an extra reprise.

It amuses me though that there are some comments (okay, well I'm happy that there are any comments at all! :D) stating that we should "do more of these" haha. But most of us don't live very near each other, and unless I bust out those omitted clips, we'd have to plan another trip and hop on some planes... We do plan to do this in the future though!
Really, the greatest concern is the price of plane tickets from Australia, and how to get the trollroo kid permission to come.

HAHAHA for the sake of "Legs Week" (twas last week but shhh), I'm just gonna share the rest of my random camwhoring session since I have the pictures anyway.

Last May, there was a trend going around twitter where everyone made their icons a picture of their legs.
In response to mine, various people--among which I mostly remember Katie, Kenta, and Matt--said that my posture reminded them of a "business boss-lady" who would "fire you if you took too long or stared" LOL. So around July, after I got my first blazer-type jacket and black pantyhose, I gave it a shot.
