Wowie... it's already been a year since the launch of NOISZ STΔRLIVHT—the rhythm game x visual novel x bullet hell mobile game that I have the honor of singing for as Asuka of idol group SUNRaiSE. ☀️
To celebrate, both groups SUNRaiSE and STΔRLIVHT came together for a collab track called "Clash of Twilight!" It's a cool song filled with cryptic lyrics referring to the game's story, which btw really keeps me on my toes and after every chapter I just want to find out more. The devs have poured a lot of passion into this fantastic game. Also love that all of the vocalists, plus Malcolm who's behind the videos, are all from the youtaite community. ❤️
We're actually running a Kickstarter right now where you can buy some merch including a CD of the entire game's soundtrack! It's super freaking cool how many members of the youtaite community have participated in it—beyond the idol group cast there's also chiisana, fome, and Miyolophone in the song credits! We're all on an album together!!! Too cool!!

NOISZ STΔRLIVHT Release Celebration Live
Finally, here's the official VOD of our livestream that we did one year ago for the launch of the game! I wrote about it in-depth in this post, but the entire idol cast went on stream as vtuber models of our characters—a huge challenge for me to conquer due to my stage fright and throat issues. But it was fun. And we did it. We did that!
This VOD was also edited by me! I added the subtitles and song names and tried to smooth out some of the technical issues we had. After the stream I just couldn't bring myself to listen to what I'd sounded like (EMBARRASSING!!!) so you can bet... much screaming and cringing happened while editing this .....

To add more to the story, this actually happened on the day of Chiisana's birthday 😂..... It's why she mentions a "bird doodoo fiasco" in her tweet!
The birds appeared in my room while the mochi cake was baking and my mom (who helped me make it ^^) had to take it out of the oven and pack it up for me because I was like AAAA I HAVE TO WATCH TO TAKE NOTE OF ALL THE PLACES THEY MIGHT POOP AT. And yes I'm still cleaning it....

There's a stupidly specific chain of events that led to this happening LOL.
1) Fome surprised me by having a microphone boom arm delivered to my house—the exact item that I've been meaning to buy for myself but kept procrastinating on... Thx fome!!
2) I wanted to shoot a small vlog thing about the Before vs. After of my mic setup.
3) But first, needed to embellish my new desk setup a little! My workplace just bought me a sit-stand desk to have at home and it's CHANGED MY LIFE. ✨
4) I decided it'd be super cute to have the Snow Miku nendo accompany me on my desk......
5) It was also a gift from fome from last year so I thought I should show him my reaction and I felt my friends would probably be interested in seeing cute Hatsune Miku nendo as well!
6) Somehow I ended up just filming a whole unboxing video on my phone and quickly edited it and uploaded in the same evening HAHAHAHAHA ???
Helloooo! It's 2 AM on a work-night but I really needed to write this post. For the past three weeks, a delightful doggo whom I call Corgi-kun has been staying at my family's house and today he returned to his owners................. and somehow I cried for hours and hours and hours? I'm definitely more attached than I'd intended to be, but I didn't expect to be nearly that affected. I don't know what's come over me but my heart was broken, my soul feels restless, and I think this post will help soothe a lot of it. Generally I'm doing well though! 💓
Thankfully I'll still see him around!! He belongs to my mom's neighborhood friend—and my mom actually goes over to help walk him every afternoon—so on the days when I'm home (which is honestly....not super often) I'll likely see him! So missing him is not necessarily why I was so broken today @@...
I briefly touched on it in my last post but he brought along a disruptive lifestyle change that was strange for sure at first but not entirely unwelcome? My parents and I all live fairly isolated lives—really this whole experience just emphasized to me how isolated I've always been. When I'm home, I'm not used to interacting with anyone, or spending time with anyone, or emotionally connecting with anyone, or accommodating anyone in the things that I do. ;; I realized a couple years ago that the unconditional love, companionship, and responsibility of a pet probably would've helped me a lot as I was growing up..
So I made it a point to try to not get used to this new lifestyle, not let me or Corgi-kun become too attached to each other—and I was able to maintain some distance for the first maybe 5 days and then it all started wildly unraveling..... Parents initially didn't want him in my room, but I started letting him in. It started becoming a bit of a routine that I would come home from work [recently very late orz], be happily greeted at the door, feel increasingly more guilty for being gone all day so I'd give him a good petting session, he'd follow me to my room and try to steal my attention, oftentimes I'd give in to those puppy dog eyes, and then he'd fall asleep on his side in my room in the little remaining time I had to do my own things. 🥺 I started buying him toys and he'd always beg to play... It was comforting that he'd always look for me and that I had the power to bring joy to another creature. 💗 I'd sing to him and eventually started saying stupid shit like, "Don't go home! I lub you!!! Be my dog!!"
I'm a fool...... When I came home today, no one greeted me or had been looking forward to my presence. The house had gone back to its empty, quiet, dark state that it had always been in. He really brought a lot of openness, affection, comfort, and smiles to my and my parents' lives that I haven't seen before. It was nice to have something to bond with my parents over; we all became super fucking enamored with this dog. It was cute to see how my parents would light up around him ;u; even if it meant they smile and talk 100x more with him than they do with me--- dsjkajsdsd I hope we can continue fostering a bit of this open, positive energy rather than shrinking back into our shells.
Also worried about how Corgi-kun is doing.. My mom and I both agree that we gave him quite the carefree, happy life here compared to how his owners treat him unfortunately. ;;; They're unreasonably strict and mean and manipulative to him... They don't really pet him much or actively play with him—and I know he gets social withdrawal since he tends to be clingier and sometimes even grumpy on the days after my friends come play with him. I hope he's doing okay and not too sad T___T Poor baby deserves better. It's nice that I worked from home this week/had Christmas off so I was able to spend a lot of time with him in the end, yet I feel bad that he probably became overly used to the attention and affection too...
On the bright side, it'll be nice to get a bit of personal time and independence back! Recording was something I had to largely forego while he was here. ^^;; And honestly I had a bit of a hard time coping with the whole "your pet may be a small part of your life but you are their entire life" thing—luckily I was only 1/3rd of his life, but still. Poor baby must have thought that his owners had abandoned him, so I felt terrible to be gone for most of the day and I always felt pressured to act cheerful and as attentive as possible for him even when I was exhausted. Conflicted feelings... It was a fun time.

The past few days sort of feel like someone took my Life Book, ripped a few pages out, and abruptly inserted a chapter from an alternate universe LOL.
My mom has a neighborhood friend (albeit still a ~10 minute walk away) who has the most darling little corgi! He only has a Chinese name—which was apparently derived from a Japanese name but I don't know it—so when referring to him in text I've been calling him Corgi-kun for simplicity hehe. Over the past year, my mom has been enjoying her early retirement by going on walks with them often and I've tagged along a handful of times when I could! Now his humans have been out of the country for an over-a-month-long trip and the only arrangement they made was for their next door neighbor to feed him and let him out for bathroom breaks. 😭 Poor baby was so miserable that my mom started going over there to take care of him every afternoon for about three weeks... Sometimes she'd bring him back to our house to chill on the porch as he initially wasn't allowed inside.
But now as of 4 days ago ❗❗ Corgi-kun is staying at our house ❗❗❗❗ until his owners are back on Christmas, which in a sick twist of fate is the most ironic day to have to part from a puppy.
Wow!!!!!! My (not really my) first ever real [temporary] pet that's not a goldfish!!!!! (or the turtle i briefly had which my grandpa thought was poisonous and let go of while i was away at kindergarten lmao)
My entire life I dreamed of having a dog but my parents would never allow it—and that's how I ended up with a large collection of doggy stuffed animals and they were honestly some of my best friends as a kid. It's really not an overexaggeration to say that I grew up pretty isolated and without much knowledge of the world... My lack of real life experience with dogs is so sad that I had to call in Chiisana (my hero 💕) to come over and help with giving Corgi-kun a veeeery much needed, long-awaited bath. Hooooooo-weee. I'm so happy now that I can pet him without having to immediately wash off the thick layer of chalk on my hands before I can proceed with the rest of my life. 8D;;
And then to make the entire situation even weirder: we had no power in our neighborhood for three days lmao; I was so torn. I absolutely felt terrible inviting Chiisa and our other friend to my dark, cold house but it was the only available time without delaying the bath by a few days...... So it was me, Corgi-kun, Chiisana, her dog Bradley (whom she brought over so that both dogs could learn to socialize), and our friend...... and a flashlight......... in my small bathroom together with no ventilation or ability to blow dry. ☠️ It was a fun kind of chaos though! For me, at least. Bless the others for hard carrying..!!

Since our time together is limited, I've been taking a lot of videos to immortalize these memories. ;^; But also trying not to get overly attached while still enjoying my time with him and letting him feel loved. I hate that this is setting us both up for inevitable heartbreak. It has been strange but somewhat comforting that he'll follow me around no matter what; he'll stay in my company and just sleep on the floor in my room when I'm done playing with him and need to do my own things... It warms my heart in a way but also I really don't want to get too used to this. It's a presence I've never had before and will not have anymore very soon.

It's been busy... In March, I had a business trip to DC for one of the more intense projects that I handle. I get to honor some genius and hardworking students in STEM, so it's very fulfilling and worth the long days spent editing in my hotel room!
Aside from that, there's been lots of fun outings with NorCal youtaite and I'm working on Youtaite React episode 2. Also have a solo cover in the works!!! Hopefully will have it out not long after I'm back from the trip. ;o;
I plan to vlog in Japan and Korea, but I'm only bringing my DSLR so I may have some good biceps by the end of it all LOL. Unfortunately, it was reallyyy hard to find a lens that would be ideal for vlogging (good in low light, compact, AFFORDABLE...) so here's what I've got now!
A pancake lens! It's 24 mm with a max aperture of F2.8, so it's...not that wide (this camera has a crop sensor) and fine in low light but not the best. It was $150, which is really good since lenses go into the thousands lol..
And here's where a hack comes in. I took a risk on this $25 attachment that screws onto your lens and is supposed to make the angle wider by 0.43x. Downsides are that it's rather big for comfortable vlogging, it's fisheye, and it does distort around the edges—but for how cheap it is, it's pretty cool!
I apologize that I REALLY CAN'T REMEMBER whether or not I moved in between taking these two pics, and I don't have any other examples I can pull up quickly right now.. But here's kind of maybe a reference of comparison ;; I can't imagine I would've moved too much since there was a rail.
Anyway, I did have one free day in DC during that business trip last month, so I finally did some touristy things and checked out the botanic garden and a museum :'D I took the chance to try to familiarize myself with vlogging again so I put together a mini vlog! Now to bring you the very unexciting conclusion to my Mikumo Guynemer (Macross Delta / "Bokura no Senjou" and "Fukakuteisei COSMIC MOVEMENT" outfit) cosplay journey.
The total of my spending from my progress post, including the wig, was $63.31... Crud, that's more than I hoped. D: And now that I've bought my own pair of boots (I'd borrowed Sophie's before but I plan to wear mine casually too), my total spending is $93.30. orzzzz
And then there's all the time and laborious nights I spent... I even worked out because I wanted flat abs.......
My cosplay turned out okay'ish though I think! It debuted at last year's Anime Expo and in most pictures, you can't tell what a ragtag bullshit mess sewing job I did!!!

YAAYYY!! A COMPLETED PROJECT! Chiisana, Kazou, and I surprised Fome for his birthday by doing a cover of one of Fome's band's songs. ^^ Actually it's the first song he wrote for Phoenix Ash. It's also appropriate given that he's got exciting changes ahead, but that will probably be announced in due time. Congratulations and happy birthday to Fome!!!

I just went to my first KCON! And now I wonder why I've never gone to KCON before because holy shit, it is such an unforgettable experience. I went with Chiisana and our friend Dres, and the funny thing is that Chiisa and I are known for having very bad luck—especially together. The drive from Norcal to LA is supposed to take 6-7 hours, but guess who had to endure a 10 hour drive through traffic hell with a lovely view of mountain wildfires.... ;x;
And somehow, KCON itself went .. beyond smoothly for us. In fact, it went super well!
So here's my KCON experience complete with shaky pictures and scream-ridden fancams ^^
It started last Wednesday when I went in to volunteer at the cable TV studio that I interned for this semester (they're also a community media center so after you get the right training, members can volunteer on productions).
I was operating one of the cameras on a TV studio taping........... and I FAINTED. LMAO. IT WAS HORRIFYING. I FELT SO BAD. But I also kind of laugh because of how pathetic I am and how horrible my luck is, and it's just so me to faint in the absolute worst case scenario.
The irony is that the show was about fitness and health LOL. So we've got all these trainers and health gurus talking on camera..... And aside from a weird headache I woke up with, I felt pretty fine? In fact, it all happened in the span of 5 minutes. Around the time the director called for 15 minutes to the end of the segment, I started feeling a bit dizzy and like I wanted to eat something, especially something sweet. (We suspect it was a blood sugar/pressure issue.) By the time the director called 10 minutes, I was like, "AGH OKAY I JUST HAVE TO ENDURE 10 MORE MINUTES THEN I CAN SIT DOWN." But then my vision started going blurry... I was seeing static and colors that weren't there, notably red... Everything started sounding bassy and I couldn't tell what anyone was saying anymore; it was a bit like the sensation of being hopelessly drunk. And then I was down :'D The floor director saw me losing control and caught me, and I faintly remember the people on set freaking out. The best part is that the director was shouting, "WHAT HAPPENED TO CAMERA 2!!" through my headset, so the first thing I did when I regained consciousness seconds later was get up and fix my camera framing LMAO. Still, I feel horrible for interrupting the taping and for worrying people sigh. That wasn't a good day at all.
Then Thursday was the biannual student short film festival at my school! ^^ I won an award a year ago, but this time wasn't able to participate in any of the films shown. Afterwards, I got to have fun hanging out and drinking with schoolmates for the first time! .......And last time as a student..... ;^; (Still yay! I guess better late than never!)
On Friday, I graduated from university. Q_______Q
Since I don't care much for festivities and conventions, I didn't buy a cap and gown because it's fucking expensive. $60 for some fabric I'm only going to wear for 4 hours and then never again, to take some low quality pictures for people I don't have much reason to be grateful to, to pretend to celebrate something I never got to feel like was a great or honored achievement anyway. Graduation wasn't a good day. Actually, I was pretty depressed and angry. Meh.
As it was our department-only convocation, every graduate had the chance to make a speech; and most of them went on long sentimental rambles that likely exceeded their 30 second limits. ..True to my nature—having been the only valedictorian in high school among 7 that did not give a speech—I made the shortest and least emotional "speech" out of the ~70 students that showed up LOL....
In the end, my parents borrowed at the last minute the gown of a family friend, that I slipped on afterwards to take some pictures haha.
On the bright side, Chiisana (who came back for the weekend) did my hair and make-up!

On Saturday, I went to Fanime! Got to meet up with and hang out with frieenddsss~ We were at a milkshake place when they suddenly sprung THIS FREAKING VIDEO ("If You Can Dream" by GemiNYA) on me and I looooooost my shit LOL. That will get its own post though! God, I have a lot of posts to make still.
That night was the BACK-ON concert, which was awesome! They're the rare j-rock band that I actually really like whose music I've bought.. Tbh Chiisana and I weren't planning on getting Fanime badges until we found out BACK-ON was the musical guest xDD But yeah, they were great! Unfortunately I don't know how to appreciate instrumentalists but they seemed solid, and the vocalists had a crazy amount of endurance and energy. My favorite songs by them are: Nibun no Ichi and Departure, which were a ton of fun live!
We also went to Fanime on Sunday, but without badges.
I cosplayed UH.... my makeshift "maid version" of Kido Tsubomi from Kagerou Project (anime Mekakucity Actors) which basically was an excuse to wear pants and sneakers under a maid dress.

With Myst, who bravely sang a solo during the Maid Cafe performances! It was great because we went over to congratulate Myst on the performance and took a pic together, and then people started showing up that wanted to take pictures with the both of us HAHA.
That night, I went over to sleep over at Myst's house where Kanso/Sean was staying for the weekend.
I've made countless posts on here and tumblr in which I'm bullying Kanso because he cosplays Kano Shuuya who Kido kind of.. violently abuses because he's a mischievous idiot. AND FINALLY Kanso gets his revenge this year as he was Policeman Rin and I a weeaboo civilian :c

When we bumped into each other at the Artist Alley at AX! And now we're real friends and stuff and that's cooool ;A; except for, y'know, when he arrests me.

Afterwards, I joined the Valkyrie Kiss (Dibur's band) members, Yano, and Fome for VK's bassist Tik's birthday.
AND TODAY. I had my first real job interview. OHMYGAH. See, I've only ever had one interview before and it was the internship one. One of my coolest professors, who's for some reason super generous to me, referred me to a part time position for a creative content company. IT WAS SO NERVE-WRACKING. I'm naturally awkward, but I guess I have no regrets since I did my best! Q^Q YAY I FEEL LIKE SO MUCH IS OFF MY SHOULDERS NOW. I feel reneeewwweeddddd.
YAY I'M GLAD IT'S OVER AND I DID IT.
Finally I can rest a little. Maybe. Idk. I have a lot to catch up on.
Hurrhurr, I started buying makeup in March and thought I should try doing review blogs and especially vlogs to show how the application of the products actually looks, since those are helpful and surprisingly rare. Finally got my first one up! I've mentioned before how much I admire KASPER, who raps and does makeup videos, and she did her own review of the pink version of this product for WISHTrend. I like her videos, but sometimes you can't help but wonder if people leave out any negative remarks due to affiliation/sponsorship, and I know WISHTrend is distributing this lip tint on their website.
Also, this is just such a fascinating and unique product that my curiosity couldn't help it, heh. I've been slightly addicted to looking at/buying lip products in the past 2 months. ㅠㅠ But they are the only thing I wear on a regular basis and I need them so that people don't ask me if I'm sick/wonder if I'm dead....

Been quite busy lately. I'm lacking a bit on sleep, but there's been so much productivity recently! I've been working on making my cosplay for AX2014: Water Courier Ruka from Puzzles and Dragons. Y taught me how to use a sewing machine :D so now I can help!! I've collected nearly all of the materials and accessories needed.. I'm thinking of ordering some contact lenses too, but ;^; even my eye doctor said my eyes are too sensitive for contacts haha. Then again, I've gotten a lot better at using eye drops and was even able to put on eyeliner for ALA without flinching much.. So we'll see. Maybe I can do it by AX. Q_Q)9
Other than that, I've also been busy with work, hanging out with NYA, mixing a few projects, recording some lines. I've been waking up early a lot lately instead of sleeping in until 4!! It's just that I work on things til late or don't get home til late so I end up not sleeping as much as I should. OTL
School starts this Thursday... And I hope that schoolwork will be chill enough to not ruin all this productivity I've had going on for other things. Sigh, I'm probably going to majorly fall behind on k-dramas too :c Too little time, too much to get done~

I've been up to 4 AM for most of the past few weeks. If not for finals, homework, working on the company video, or because of being out of the house til late, then it was because of working on this! I'm embarrassed to hell, but ultimately I'm really happy to finally have finished and released this. ;v; It's something I know I've spent a lot of effort on so I guess that's something to be proud of. This.... is just kind of a meaningless conversation I had with a coworker, not knowing that my camera had been recording. It goes nowhere and I still don't know what the hell he meant. (I've been going around the office and warehouse recording footage for the company video that I'm helping to make!)
I guess I've been whining a lot lately about feeling lonely or restless and how I don't have many people to casually hang out with, so I'm happy I do have some cool tomodacheese and that I've been out of the house more lately. <3
On Saturday, I had a really fun day out with Myst, Kazou, and Dibur! Myst I'm assuming most people know or have heard of by now. Kazou started hanging out with us last month and he's an adorable but extreemely tall (even to me..) Korean guy who has a gentle, charming, and controlled voice to fucking die for. He is king of ballads.
Dibur we met last week at karaoke, introduced to us by Fome who was also meeting us for the first time. Fome and Dibur are both fucking amazing, are part of rock bands, and can belt the roof off.
ANYHOW, we went to a sushi buffet! 8D
Then explored and loitered around the mall for a few hours, before we went over to Kazou's house, and that was really fun. ^^
asddjhjhkkf Kazou and Dibur are both talented-ass mothafreakin musical geniuses so at one point when they started having a jam session together, Myst and I kind of died. shhhhhh here's a clip sshhhhhh

I don't have the attention span to do much reading, so this was a huge surprise. However, I really enjoy this because it's a treasure trove of witty and snarky poems. MY FAVORITE THINGS EVER.
