It's late, but I don't want to go to bed. Because when I close my eyes, tomorrow arrives. And tomorrow will be the same as today and yesterday. My alarm will go off, and I'll wonder the same thing: why should I get out of bed? Luckily it isn't always this way; luckily I have somehow gotten over these slumps in the past. But right now barely anything is rewarding or meaningful enough to make it worthwhile to put myself out there where I have dreadful responsibilities, and people are constantly horrible, and I have to keep pretending to laugh, pretending that social interaction doesn't feel like a chore right now. At least it's a phase! I think. Help, have you seen the motivation and inspiration in my life? I seem to have lost it.

A post unintentionally about arms

And then it was another 3 days without wifi and I rolled around from boredom. WHYYYYY.
At least I guess I wasn't stuck at home the whole time. uAu I think I really underappreciate how blessed I am..... My current job is so flexible and chill that often on Fridays, everyone works from home/out of office. And a few times, I've been able to go back to my old accounting job that I left with a lot of sadness after working part time for 5 years, and they welcome me with open arms! ;u; They let me sit in my old office that's been vacant since I left.

Yesterday, I was planning to do that—but it turned out that they were having a company lunch event in Monterey (a seaside city a bit more than an hour away) and my old boss invited me to go despite my not even being a current employee LOL.. alsdkfsdjf that was so awesome of her! So even though it meant I had to delay doing actual work to after getting back, I tagged along which was a nice change of pace and scenery. I can't believe I was able to randomly have a good seafood meal for free!!! Everyone at my table got full before me so I had most of the crab legs in the cioppino by myself omg!!!!! I'M SO SPOILED Q___Q

Last night after I did actual work, I had late dinner with Chiisa and Ian—who I was so excited to see that I broke into a run to give him a surprise hug. AND I SURE SURPRISED HIM, ALRIGHT. By faceplanting right behind him. Into the sidewalk. Because I stupidly forgot that there was no traction beneath my sandals, SO DOWN I WENT..! Aaaaaaaaand I sprained my left elbow, which absorbed most of my weight in my effort to keep my new stupid smartphone in my hand unscathed. =v=;;;..... S-should I be proud that I saved money by not breaking this overly expensive device? My arm will heal up eventually anyway!!! Right!! (Ok having only one arm that's able to bend more than 30 degrees is real fucking annoying; I wouldn't recommend it. Don't be like me.)

And so concludes my maso run being in two singing competitions at once..! It was fun and it was suffering.

Round rankings came out for both Lyrica System Online (youtaite chorus battle) and PRODUCE90 (k-pop individual battle) in the past few days, and I'm so proud—Gemini passed round 1 of LSO, and all members of Gemini participating in PD90 passed round 3!!!!

I can't believe that I made it up to rank 7 in PRODUCE90 ;A;....... That means a lot of people must have voted for me and I'm very thankful!
Unfortunately it's the end of the road for me here because I've decided to drop out and pass on my spot to someone else who can be more dedicated to the contest. ;; It was pretty hard balancing everything in the past month, and I'm done with barely sleeping and constantly feeling stressed out and worried about not being able to finish everything on time.. Regardless, I'm really glad that I joined PRODUCE90 because I got to know a ton of people and sang with folks I've never worked with before ;u; It's been sooooo long since I've been in a k-pop collab that wasn't within Gemini, and I've been really yearning to do more k-pop collabs—just didn't have the time to organize any. But now I'm walking away with new friends and rekindled friendships and have a few upcoming collabs with them, which is exciting~

And hopefully I'll be able to commit more time to Gemini's journey in LSO!

WE'RE ALL IN SHOCK TBH...... We ranked 5th place (technically it's more like 4th since two groups tied for 1st?) in round 1 of LSO !!!!! Out of 87 groups!! HOLY FUCKING SHIT. AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I'm so proud of everyone on my team—they worked incredibly hard and I'm happy they're getting the recognition they deserve. ;;;; We didn't imagine we could do this well..... So many groups had a ton of talent and honestly, we had concerns about our song choice. Firstly because it's so different from usual CB songs (which was the point but could easily backfire) and secondly because we felt that it was a song chosen for the statement rather than to show off actual vocal ability. And then I worry because I feel like I have a lot more to learn in making mixes sound polished like other mixers can. IDK WE WERE JUST REALLY WORRIED..... 5th place is such an honor ;A;!!!

LOL this post is so unbelievably late, even if I technically have already linked this video here before. My life was entirely consumed by LSO for a few days, and then I went back to dying from cosplay hell all the way up til Anime Expo. Now I'm back from the trip and trying to settle back into normal working life! It's not going very well!!

So here is Gemini's Lyrica System Online round 1 entry that we worked really hard on! <3

We consider this our big comeback since the last time we participated in a competition during 2011's DUBattle Royale, and I couldn't be happier to still have the same 6 vocalists—and new additions to our family!! We're super thankful to our visual team: Curry our [maso] amazing animator, Mari who was willing to help as animation support despite being rly busy, Chienu who drew us a ton of gorgeous character art, and Amjupy who drew awesome background art. ♥ They worked incredibly hard and we're lucky as hell to have their talents and sweetness on board, as well as Razzy who was always there for priceless support and company. ;u;

For sure next round (if we pass), we have to do some things differently, but I'm pretty proud of what we've made and accomplished~

Hello! ´͈ ᵕ `͈ It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog, but I do hope you’re all doing well~

As for me, I’m doing better now. For a while I was feeling more and more like I’m living up to my online name Leia. Having to tell and act out lies everyday... It’s hard not to feel suffocated.

I want to thank again all of the kind readers that stuck by my side when I became student council president. ; ; Truthfully, I’m still haunted by that heartbreaking day. I remember clearly when I had to announce the dissolution of the Gaming Club—how the students believed me a traitor, and the school admin a praiseworthy messenger of their voice. Maybe I’m just a coward. A tool, certainly. The painting has been drawn, and I don’t have the courage to shatter whatever illusion they want to believe in. > <

After all, I am the student council president and it’s my “duty” to make sure our test scores go up again, even if the school thinks the solution is to “stop” gaming… And even until now, none of the students have cared to ask about my true feelings, sigh. Now I don’t know if I can imagine telling anyone that I actually wanted to join the gaming club or that I’m a blogger, or anything. At least I can always come here because you guys give me a haven in which I don’t need to lie, a special place where I can express whatever. ; ◡ ;)9 So thank you~

Well, in the past few weeks, I’ve set off on kind of a new adventure!
Our school has a pretty popular anonymous forum for students to chat without registering their real identity. But ever since all the gamers graduated, went into hiding, or gave into the pressure to retire, it’s been pretty dry there... But out of nowhere, there was the first gaming-related thread in eons! I don’t know if they’re new or just don’t care, but someone with the username xoxoAvacadoxoxo posted about the new RPG Lyrica System Online, which has surprisingly gotten a handful of responses!! ✧◡✧

Actually, I’ve been playing this game since release hehe.
What I did was something I’ve never done before…… I.. Somehow I built up the courage to do it!!! I invited all of the thread respondents to join my party in the game, and they all accepted! We decided on the party name Gemini ☆

I’d say we make a pretty well-rounded team:

We’ve got RoyalTea as our assassin to serve attack speed.
Most of our physical damage is dealt by xoxoAvacadoxoxo the great lord.
For spells, AcuteMage plays the most calculatingly mana-efficient sorcerer ever.
FaunaHime is the queen of PvP… Most shrine maidens don’t play aggressively, but she slaughters everyone with her summons.
Of course, we have to have a healer and that’s RockChanx3 as our lovely songstress.
And I, waterpixieleia, am in charge of sniping with my archer range!

It’s been really fun playing and even chatting with them. ^ ^ Admittedly, I do wish I knew who they were at school… Maybe I’m even in classes with them. How am I supposed to even figure out who they are, and do they even want to be figured out? I guess that’s kind of an adventure of its own!

Hi everyone! ´͈ ᵕ `͈ It’s been such a wild goose chase of a week.

Classes and student council work have been tough, but it’s always relaxing to spend some time hunting baddies with Gemini. We play together everyday now!! * ^ * And I’ve actually figured out who two of them are hehe.

There’s a girl named Chiisana that I was close with in elementary school, but I haven’t talked to her in years because we didn’t go to the same middle school. Actually, I was a little intimidated too. She became so idol-like and seemed to spend all her time at the Theatre Club. I was skeptical at first because it was such a giveaway name, to call yourself RockChanx3 when you’ve had a pet rock since childhood…..

Bringing up LSO to her was awkward but as it turns out, she’s kind of similar to me. ；д；She actually eats by herself at Theatre Club; this wasn’t the first time someone was intimidated by her idol-like aura, but she was also scared to be something others didn’t expect her to be. Oh and apparently playing games helps her work on acting because she can put herself in the role of different characters, which is so cool! Now that we’ve found each other again, we’ve been eating lunch together everyday TT TT..!! I haven’t had a friend like this in so long ♡

I’ve also found xoxoAvacadoxoxo, the starter of the thread from the forum! Rather, he gave himself away hehehe. During PE yesterday, I overheard the captain of the Sports Club straight up in the most carefree manner tell his jock friends about making an LSO thread and asking if students are just too shy to respond!!!!! He’s so funny (like he is online!) I could barely hold in my laughter….. I couldn’t believe my ears, although the next part didn’t surprise me as much. > < His “friends” started making fun of him for everything--making the thread, wasting time sitting around playing stupid games, skipping orientation and completely missing my big announcement about the school’s stance on gaming. (￣ ￣|||) T-that guy……

Anyway, I looked up his files (no, really, I’m just doing my job as student council president) and his name is Jeffrey. How he was approved to be Sports Club captain I don’t even understand since he’s a recent transfer student from Australia, but I hear he’s basically a pro at most athletics? (My VP Razzy will be hearing about this.)

Today, Chiisana and I found Jeffrey and asked if he played LSO, but he quietly denied it and left. ; ; What happened to the bold and hilarious guy we became friends with? There’s no way I’m mistaken… Aaaah Jeffrey why!!!

Also~ I went to the Animation Club room to give them some papers and saw that two girls named Curry and Mari are working on a project that features some characters from LSO.. °Д° I haven’t gotten to talk to them yet but who knows if maybe they’re actually Gemini members too!!

That’s all for now for my findings. ^ ^ It’s interesting going around school now and almost feeling like I’m navigating through a labyrinth. There’s so much to uncover around every corner, puzzles to piece together, and the NPC’s are all hiding secret dialogue.

This next round will be a fun one because we're going to sing the 5 original songs made for the show on which this contest is based, Produce 101, and it's probably what most contestants joined for. I'm really happy that I'm in the group for the song I wanted to do the most, Fingertips! After the show aired, I wanted to do a solo cover of the song but alas :c no good instrumental and no time. But now I get to sing it with others yay~ Or to be more precise, I get to rap it. ;D I'm the main rapper and my Gemini bro Ryan will be my partner in the big rap section!!

Although now the question is when can I record------

I can't believe the LSO chorus battle deadline is in 2 days and Anime Expo is in a week. FUUUUUUUUCK. I'm writing this on the flight home from my business trip and when I get back I need to finish the mix and and then back to cosplay sewing hell and full time work I'm so omg ;;;; why did this life choose me I'm too weak

[Phlog] Boston!

Blogger app is actually so incredibly inadequate. :/ Here goes writing all of this a second time.

So I'm in Boston now!!! (edit: was at time of writing) For a business trip! We're shooting interviews with our client's employees at their different branches for their 20th anniversary video, so we'll be flying out to Kansas City, Missouri too on Wednesday.

I had to wake up at 3:30 AM to leave at 4 for my 6 AM flight..... RIP........ o<-< I thought I could stay up working on cosplay til then since lately I've been working til that late anyway lol. The night before I slept at 6 AM, but I guess I was too sleep deprived to make it past 12:30 without sleepy headaches. @_@

Was able to nap a bit on the plane, and then I had a very productive flight!! 8D While watching two movies I've been meaning to see, I sewed the snap buttons and decorative buttons onto the wrist cuffs for my cosplay hehehe..

The first movie I watched was a Korean one called Beauty Inside that I've been interested in since I heard such a film was being produced. It's about a man whose appearance changes every time he sleeps--he may even wake up as a woman or a child. What makes him break out of his reclusive lifestyle for the first time is a woman (Han Hyojoo) whom he admires, connects well with, and of course falls in love with. Despite one story complaint, I enjoyed the film a lot and even teared up twice but I didn't want anyone on the plane to see me cry. QAQ Would watch it again! Beautiful cinematography, overall good acting, and an EPICCCC CAST for those that follow the Korean drama sphere. They lined up BASICALLY A LEGION of beloved actors and actresses to portray the different versions of the protagonist which was so fun! I loved so many of them TT TT!!! And Han Hyojoo was simply gorgeous in this; I can't explain entirely how much I adore her demeanor and expressions. She was so charming and smile so warm and character so diligent, smart, passionate, and genuine with some understandable flaws--even I couldn't help but admire and fall in love with her LOL. Aaaaah #goals

Then I watched The Intern starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro, which I also enjoyed and found hilarious ;u; Very heartwarming, and I love seeing movies like this with empowering and successful women protagonists!!

Whether I'm being extra blog-active to try to compensate for feeling like I don't spend adequate time online (no wifi), or to make up for STILL not having written about the cosplay I made last year--certainly I'm trying to compensate for something. And I don't mind!! :'D I've said for a while that I would blog more often if only there were more time in the day. Or I guess if I didn't have wifi and don't feel like sleeping at 3:51 AM despite full time work.

Anyway, this year I wanted to record my progress and expenses for the cosplay I'm making for AX. :> I've actually never kept track of my cosplay spending which......was irresponsibly bad and also good because seeing numbers would have just stressed me out. Cosplay is hella expensive.. This year I realize how much those amounts from the past few years must have added up, so I'm curious how much I'll spend now being more careful.

 - ordered a wig

 - fitted, cut, and hemmed the white blouse! have not chopped off the sleeves yet

 - cut out the fabric/pattern for the vest, added interfacing... only partially hemmed. not put together at all. NEED TO ADD WHITE STRIPES TO BLUE FABRIC..

 - pleated all three layers of the skirt yay! have not attached them together yet.

OKAY THIS IS WHERE I WAS AT EARLY LAST NIGHT. Still looks shitty omg LOL. The skirt isn't put together at all; the pieces were safety pinned to my shorts and I still have to make a waistband to hold them together.

After this picture last night, I cut half of the vest to midlength, sewed together, and hemmed most of it!!! Now trying to figure out the collar which is actually really hard..

Round 2 is currently happening for the k-pop coverist competition, PRODUCE90!
It's an individual battle, so sadly 4µla will probably remain a one time deal. :'c For this round, we all chose from a pool of songs (members not revealed until everyone had selected) and the first person to choose each song was the leader of the group. I lucked out again because I met some really nice ladies this round.<3

Our group includes bestie Chiisana, Liana whom I know from waaaaaay back when but haven't worked with in years!, leader Jaehwa, and supportive sweeties Mima and Stella.

HUUUUGE props to Jaehwa who took on way more responsibility than she needed to as leader. She was always there and always supportive, kept us on track, and worked harder than anyone tbh. Since none of the rest of us were able to help out, she did both the audio mixing and video!!
